The boy, who cannot be identified because of his age, was arrested by Armidale detectives at 8am on Wednesday morning, less than 24 hours after the robbery at the BP in the CBD.
The teen is accused of being armed with a knife when he entered the service station, on the corner of Marsh and Dumaresq Streets, about 2pm on Tuesday. Detectives allege he stole lollies and drinks after threatening the attendant and fleeing the scene.
Detectives pored over CCTV footage of the hold-up and spoke to witnesses before homing in on the teenage suspect.
